DJA is funded through the National Disability Advocacy Program (NDAP), which is informed by the principles of the UN Conventions on the Rights of Persons with Disability and core disability legislation, such as the Disability Services Act 1986 (DSA) and the Disability Discrimination Act 1992 along with the frameworks instilled through the National Disability Strategy and the National Disability Advocacy Framework.
At the very core of the organisation is an obligation to promoting justice and advocating for social change. Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs is used to prioritise allocation of available resources in a non-discriminatory manner. Our advocacy is a free service for clients.
